Well, we have made it to Newark right on time and we are now enjoying our 5 1/2 hour layover. Deb & Leanne should be arriving shortly from Chicago. We can't wait to see them! We first met in 1991 when we were part of the same adoption traveling group. Leanne is now 20 years old since she was about 4 or so when she was adopted. She is now a beautiful college student. Doesn't seem possible.
For just a moment before we sign off, I must brag about our bags. I was concerned about our connections and convinced my traveling companions to do carry ons only. Marcy wins the prize with a small lightweight wheeled bag and a backpack. Kaley has a fashionable 21 inch pulled suitcase and a matching backpack. I also have a 21 inche wheeled suitcase and was also carrying a small duffle in which I had shoved a small computer backpack and computer, toiletries, plane snacks, etc. Well, that duffle didn't even survive the trip to Newark so I've already purchased a new more substantial duffle. I'm hoping they will let me on the plane with these two carryons of fairly good size.
The photo is of us this morning outside the Marriot in Pittsburgh. We've got clothes for 2 1/2 weeks, gifts for some friends in Cambodia, medicines, etc. All in those bags! Kaley the shoe queen only has 3 pair of shoes with her which is especially remarkable!
